I enjoyed your show! It seems everywhere I go, there is Latino influence in food these days. My favorite thing recently was sweet potato empanadas & black bean cakes with pico de gallo sauce and avacado coulis at The Ohio State University Faculty Club of all places! Executive Chef Josh Harris always does a great job and this time he really hit a home run. It started as a featured item and became so popular that they have added to the main menu for spring & summer. As Guy Fieri would say, “I could eat that all day long!”
One that has to be on the list is Northstar’s Chicken and Avocado Sandwich. The influence of the cemita, a particular kind of Mexican sandwich from Puebla, is undeniable. I like their clever substitutes though- arugula for pápalo and roasted red peppers for chipotles.

Thanks Lisa – sounds good! We are glad to hear of other examples.
